David Verelley (electric bass, double bass, vocals) fills out Midnight Rodeo’s rhythm section. Since 1974, David has played bass professionally with various classical and contemporary music groups. He studied upright bass with renowned bassist and composer Brian Q. Torff of Fairfield University, performing with the Bridgeport Civic Orchestra and playing rockabilly shows with Joe Newman and the Tornadoes.

David studied electric bass with Grammy-nominated bassist/songwriter Scott Spray currently touring and recording with blues legend Johnny Winter and attended master classes with Jeff Berlin at the Musician’s Institute in Los Angeles. His bass influences also include Paul McCartney, Carole Kay, Joe Osborn, James Jamerson, Rocco Prestia, Chris Squire, and John Entwistle.

David currently plays with the Wayne Hiller Octet, a Connecticut-based swing/jazz/big band and has been jamming with Bruce since 1999 in the classic rock band, The Cutouts. He also played with Northeast show band, Limelite, from 1985 through 1998. David enjoys a good Fender bass and is forever striving for that pure bass tone.
